Our Rodent Control Process

9

Site Assessment

We begin all of our treatment plans with a thorough inspection – identifying what species is causing the infestation, their entry points, and their food sources. We’ll discuss our findings with you, and explain your best course of action.

Rodent Control Services

Depending on what sort of infestation is present we’ll deploy live traps, snap traps, and bait stations. We’ll schedule a follow up visit for clean up and to ensure that the rodent population has been managed.

9

Exclusion and Repairs

In addition to eliminating your rodent problem it is important to rodent-proof your house to prevent the problem from arising again. In cases of severe infestation your attic or crawlspace insulation and wires may have been damaged. We will clean, disinfect, and make repairs to the impacted areas as needed.

So Happy!

“We are so happy with Cramer Pest Control. We have been clients for several years for pest control. During a routine service call, CJ alerted us to a pipe leak that we had no idea was occurring. As a result, we were able to have a plumber and contractor come and fix the issue. It could have turned into a much bigger issue. Thank you!”

Yes, all of our treatments are safe for children and pets. Our pest control expert will explain any necessary precautions you may need to take.

Can my family get sick from coming into contact with a mouse?

Yes! Never touch or handle wild mice or rats!

Rodents spread illness a variety of ways: through bites and scratches, through their droppings and urine (which may produce disease-causing dust or contaminate food), and through the fleas and ticks which often accompany them.

According to the CDC mice and rats are known to transmit:

  • Hantavirus

  • Lyme Disease
  • Murine Typhus

What are some signs my home has a rodent infestation?

Mice and rats are generally quite skillful at staying out of sight and it may take some detective work to determine you have an infestation.

Signs of rodent infestation:

  • Gnaw marks on
  • Droppings (mouse droppings are 1/8-1/4 inch long rods with pointed ends, while rat feces are larger at ½ to ¾ inches long)
  • Unusual, musty or unpleasant odor – mice use their urine as a form of communication
  • Damage to packages containing cereals, grains, or nuts
  • Scratching or scurrying sounds within walls, floor, or ceiling.
  • A rodent sighting – where there’s one visible mouse or rat there are likely many more that are doing a better job of staying hidden!
What are the most common rodents in North and South Carolina?

When there is rodent activity in a house it is usually one of three species: Norway rats, house mice, or roof rats. All three spread illness and can cause severe damage to your home’s wiring and insulation.
