Make Your Outdoors Less Itchy with our Mosquito Control Service

At best mosquito bites are a nuisance and at their worst they can cause serious illness, but you don’t have to stand idly by and tolerate it! Our mosquito control program cuts down on these noisome pests and makes your yard a more enjoyable place.

Less Buzzing, Less Swatting, Less Itching

While we may get some relief in winter from these flying blood suckers, once spring rolls around mosquito activity picks up and outdoor activities rapidly become unwilling blood donation sessions.

Defensive strategies like long sleeves, citronella candles, essential oils, and insect repellent like DEET help stave off the worst of their attacks, but for truly effective control of mosquito populations you need to go on the offensive!

Our Mosquito Control Process

9

Site Assessment and Standing Water Treatment

Effective mosquito control begins with limiting mosquito breeding sites. Our experts will assess your property, identifying and treating areas of standing water. After our assessment we’ll meet with the homeowner and explain our findings.

9

Apply Mosquito Control Products

The next step is applying a mosquito control spray. This spray kills adult mosquitoes and quickly works to make your backyard a more pleasant place to spend time.

9

Monthly Follow-Ups and Optional Mosquito Bait Traps

The effectiveness of the treatment will wane over time as mosquitos from outside the treated area make their way back. Monthly treatments will keep the mosquito population down all summer long. If desired, we also offer mosquito bait traps which actively capture and kill mosquitoes.

Be Able To Enjoy Your Backyard

After mosquito treatment you’ll find that your yard is immediately a nicer place to spend time. While it is impossible to eradicate 100% of the mosquito population, the results of treatment will be obvious. There will be far fewer mosquitos, allowing you to use less mosquito repellent when outside during peak mosquito hours and experience fewer bites all day long.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there anything I can do to reduce how many mosquitoes I have in my backyard?

The first step towards reducing mosquito populations in your backyard is to eliminate mosquito breeding sites. Female mosquitoes lay eggs in standing water – even in sources as small as the amount found at the bottom of a flower pot base. Poorly draining gutters, old tires, and decorative fountains are other common breeding sites.

While getting rid of trash tires or fixing gutters is easy, some people will be reluctant to get rid of bird baths – another common breeding site – but there are other solutions available. There are commercially available larvicide which are safe for birds and will kill any developing mosquito larvae before they can make it to adulthood.

What dangers do mosquitos pose?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), mosquitos represent a serious public health risk. Mosquitoes spread:

  • West Nile Virus
  • Zika Virus
  • Dengue Fever
  • Yellow Fever
  • Chikungunya

Over time new vector-borne diseases are emerging or being introduced from afar, making the risk that mosquitoes pose ever greater.

How does rain affect my mosquito treatment?

Afternoon thundershowers are commonplace in our Carolina summers and it’s understandable that you’d be concerned about this impacting the effectiveness of your treatment. The good news is our treatment dries in 30 minutes and is not washed away by rain.

My municipality sprays for mosquitos. Do I really need to get my yard treated?

Even if your municipality sprays for mosquitos you will see a benefit from spraying your yard for mosquitoes. The number of mosquito breeding sites is so vast that no chemical mosquito control can kill the entire population in a region and so the best control method involves widespread treatment (municipality level) supplemented by treating individual properties.

Is a mosquito treatment safe for my yard if I have pets?

The insecticides we use in our mosquito control treatments are quite safe and do not pose a risk to your pets. We recommend keeping your pets indoors during the treatment and waiting 30 minutes for the product to dry.
